CHICAGO, June 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- North American Van Lines and the Gary Sinise Foundation are proud to announce that northAmerican has been named the Official Moving Partner for the Foundation. As Official Mover, northAmerican will transport specifically designed furniture for wounded combat veterans that are recipients of the Foundation's specially adapted custom "Smart Homes," which are built under its R.I.S.E. (Restoring Independence, Supporting Empowerment) initiative. Since fall 2014, northAmerican agents have transported "smart" furniture to seven Smart Home recipients, with up to nine more deliveries planned through the end of 2015.
"We are very grateful for the amazing support of northAmerican Van Lines," says Gary Sinise of the Gary Sinise Foundation. "The construction of the Smart Homes has a lot of moving parts, all of which are important. With transporting furniture and appliances, northAmerican Van Lines is that final piece that ultimately helps turn a 'house' into a 'home.'"
"North American Van Lines has always supported our servicemen and women that give so much in defense of our freedom," says Andy Kroll, Vice President and General Manager of northAmerican Van Lines. "We are honored to contribute to the outstanding work done by the Gary Sinise Foundation and the RISE program in their support of our most severely wounded patriots and their families."

Having lost multiple limbs, suffering from burns, or traumatic brain injury, the Sinise Foundation provides special "smart technology" homes, complete with "smart" furniture designed for the unique needs of these wounded veterans, at no cost to the service member or their family.
