North American Spine Joins Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger at 2010 ICA Symposium
- Minimally Invasive Spine Procedure Represents Logical Next Step in Continuum of Care -
COLUMBUS, Ohio, March 9 /PRNewswire/ -- North American Spine's Lawrence B. Rothstein, M.D., was a featured speaker at the International Chiropractors Association's 2010 Symposium on Natural Fitness in Columbus, OH, last weekend. The Symposium featured an appearance from California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and other fitness, exercise and injury rehabilitation experts. Also appearing on North American Spine's behalf was former WCW Professional Wrestling Champion Kevin Donofrio, a.k.a. Cyborg.
Dr. Rothstein is the pioneer of the AccuraScope(TM) procedure which allows physicians to examine the inside of the spinal canal and the discs of the lower back to identify, diagnose and treat any tears, ruptures, herniations, bulges or other abnormalities - many of which may be undetected or mis-identified by MRIs.
"The AccuraScope(TM) procedure is the least invasive spinal procedure and allows us to diagnose and treat our patients' disc problems directly at their source where the problems occur," said Dr. Rothstein, Chief Medical Officer for North American Spine. "Unlike other minimally invasive procedures, it also lets us look for problems at multiple levels which improves diagnoses and decreases the possibility of multiple surgeries."
The AccuraScope(TM) procedure is a minimally invasive, natural opening procedure that allows physicians to diagnose and treat acute and chronic back pain problems. The procedure takes approximately 30-45 minutes with patients usually being discharged in about an hour and able to resume light physical activity the next day. AccuraScope(TM) has a demonstrated track record and an unrivaled success rate with more than 5,000 patients already treated.
"I tried everything to relieve my back pain, including other minimally invasive surgeries. Nothing else worked," said Mr. Donofrio (a.k.a. Professional Wrestling's Cyborg). "The AccuraScope procedure has allowed me to not only live again without pain, but also to train and resume officiating wrestling."
North American Spine is the sole provider of the AccuraScope procedure and operates in Dayton, OH and Dallas, TX. The company plans to open additional locations in Tampa, FL (Spring 2010) and other cities in the near future.
