Norman Describes Cyber Criminal Behavior at Cyber Security 2010
FAIRFAX, Va., Sept. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Norman ASA, a leading security company, today announced that Righard Zwienenberg, Chief Research Officer, will speak on cyber criminal behavior and strategies at the Cyber Security 2010 event, Sept. 22-23, Brussels, Belgium. The theme of the conference is "Protecting Critical National Infrastructure from the Cyber Threat." The event will be attended by leaders from government, international organizations and the private sector.
Zwienenberg's topic is "Can Cyber Criminals Move Freely?" His presentation will address areas that include:
- Case studies of insider attacks
- Why insider attacks work
- How new problems around running cloud-based applications can be misused by cyber criminals
- "Top 9" problems in the cloud
- Attacks in the SCADA environment
In addition, Zwienenberg will explore trends in international efforts to address the spread of botnets. Botnets are networks of computers and servers, often numbering in the hundreds, which operate and are controlled by malicious software under the direction of cyber criminals.
"In correlating the data, you find there is significant overlap where specific servers are a part of multiple criminal networks," Zwienenberg said. "This information may be useful as botnet takedown strategies are considered."
