MAINTAL, Germany, Oct. 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- NORMA Group, a global market leader in engineered joining technology, has received a major order from a German car manufacturer.
Beginning in 2017, NORMA Group will annually manufacture in Europe up to 28 million joining products for vehicles for sale on a global basis through 2027.
The contract includes NORMAQUICK PS3 quick connectors and NORMAPLAST SV hose and pipe connectors, which are used in vehicle cooling systems.
"We look forward to working with our customer on this large-scale global project," says Werner Deggim, CEO of NORMA Group. "For us, this is also about our responsibility for a cleaner environment. After all, our weight-reduced products help lower emissions by reducing the total weight of vehicles and, in turn, reducing fuel consumption."
NORMAQUICK PS3 quick connectors are made of recyclable materials and connect charge-air systems and heating and cooling lines. The compact design of the connector enables quick installation and allows for it to be used even where mounting conditions are tight. Thanks to an integrated mounting bracket, PS3 quick connectors can be installed and removed without the use of tools. Assembly also can take place during fully automated processes. An integrated gasket ensures proper tightness.
NORMAPLAST SV hose and pipe connectors connect plastic pipes such as PA6 and PA12 pipes. They are made of black polyamide 6 or polyamide 12 with 30 percent glass fibers and can be supplied with O-rings.
