AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Feb. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The NORMA Group's plant in Saltsburg, Pennsylvania, has received an Achieving Excellence Award from John Deere for its participation in the John Deere Cost Reduction Opportunities Process (JD CROP).
NORMA Pennsylvania was honored for providing cost-reduction ideas to improve quality and for demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement. The award will be presented at a John Deere "Achieving Excellence" banquet in April in Moline, Illinois.
NORMA Group's Saltsburg plant manufactures a variety of clamps, including worm-drive hose clamps and v- band clamps, to as many as 20 John Deere locations in the U.S. and around the world. The NORMA Group's 121,000-square-foot facility has nearly 250 employees and has been a John Deere supplier for more than 20 years.
"NORMA Group employees are dedicated to providing their customers with the highest quality products and service," said Tim Jones, the company's president for the Americas. "We are especially proud to have received this award for our efforts to reduce costs."
Jones noted that suppliers who participate in the Achieving Excellence program are evaluated annually in several key performance categories, including quality, cost management, delivery, technical support and wavelength – a measure of responsiveness.
John Deere Supply Management created the program in 1991 to provide a supplier evaluation and feedback process to promote continuous improvement.
