National Outdoor Retailer Invites Public to Three-Day Celebration in Lincoln, NH
PETERBOROUGH, N.H., Jan. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Staying true to its heritage of celebrating the outdoors and reinforcing its commitment to conservation, Eastern Mountain Sports, one of the nation's largest outdoor retailers, today announced the 2010 dates for the Nor'easter powered by Eastern Mountain Sports® (www.noreaster.ems.com), the Northeast's premiere mountain life festival, combining multiple outdoor sports, conservation efforts and the Northeast's premier music lineup. Taking place Friday, September 24, 2010 through Sunday, September 26, 2010, at Loon Mountain in Lincoln, NH, the three-day event will include: music, climbing, cyclocross and trail running with top musical acts, professional athletes and the Eastern Mountain Sports Climbing School, a volunteer conservation project, a social camping atmosphere for overnight guests, and more. A portion of the weekend's proceeds will benefit the Conservation Alliance (www.conservationalliance.com), an outdoor advocate group that engages outdoor businesses to help protect and conserve threatened wild places for their habitat and recreation values.
"The Nor'easter is the perfect way to bring people who support mountain life, people who love music, and people who are concerned about the environment together for a one-of-a-kind outdoor experience," said Will Manzer, President and CEO of Eastern Mountain Sports. "Our goal is to combine the fun of a music festival with the excitement of an elite climbing competition in a single outdoor venue with a minimal environmental impact, so that it is left in even better condition at the end of the event than it was at the beginning. It's going to open a lot of eyes."
