SEATTLE, Oct. 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Seattle-based Nordstrom, Inc., (NYSE: JWN) announced today plans to open a new Nordstrom Rack at Baldwin Commons in Auburn Hills just outside of Detroit. The approximately 34,800 square-foot store is slated to open spring 2013.
Nordstrom Rack is the off-price retail division of Nordstrom, Inc., carrying on-trend merchandise from Nordstrom stores and Nordstrom.com at 50 to 60 percent off original Nordstrom prices. Nordstrom Rack also offers a wide selection of apparel, accessories and shoes from many of the brands carried in Nordstrom stores. These items are purchased specially for Nordstrom Rack, with most at savings of 30 to 70 percent off.
Baldwin Commons is a 400,000 square-foot shopping center conveniently located off Interstate 75 on Baldwin Road. The new Nordstrom Rack will occupy the former Linens 'n Things space in the central area of the center, and joins co-tenants DSW, Kohl's, Old Navy and Ulta among others. Baldwin Commons is owned and managed by Lormax Stern, Kirco Development and Walbridge.

Nordstrom currently has two Nordstrom Rack stores in Michigan including stores at Troy Marketplace in Troy, Mich. and Centerpointe Mall in Grand Rapids, Mich. Additionally, the company operates three full-line stores in the greater Detroit area including locations at Somerset Collection, Twelve Oaks Mall and Partridge Creek. In addition to the Auburn Hills store, Nordstrom Rack will also open in Ann Arbor, Mich. in spring 2013.
