NEW YORK, Jan. 26, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Norbert Young, Jr., FAIA, has joined STV as a senior vice president and will lead the Construction Management Division's project controls group. Based in STV's New York office, he will report directly to Steven Pressler, executive vice president of the Construction Management Division.

Young brings to STV more than 35 years of diverse experience. Beginning his career as an architect serving a wide range of commercial and institutional clients, he expanded his role to include construction management in the 1980s.
"Throughout his career Norbert has consistently worked to improve productivity by leveraging technology," said Steven Pressler. "Now he will help guide us at STV as we adopt more and more virtual design and construction processes linking building information modeling (BIM) with key components of project controls such as estimating, scheduling, constructability and value engineering as well as project information management."
Before joining STV, Young was the president of McGraw-Hill Construction, the leading provider of information and media services to the construction industry through such prestigious brands as ENR, Architectural Record, FW Dodge, Sweets and construction.com. Prior to that, he was with the Bovis Construction Group, where he was president of Bovis Management Systems. While with Bovis, he led the program management of the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics, implementing the 28-project program.
Young received his bachelor of arts from Bowdoin College and his masters of architecture from the University of Pennsylvania, and he is a registered architect in Pennsylvania and Maine. A frequent speaker in the industry, he has received numerous awards and recognitions, including the Henry Michel Award from the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Kemper Award from the American Institute of Architects. He is a fellow of the America Institute of Architects, and is a member of the National Academy of Construction.
