Nonprofit NS2 Serves Seeks 20 Veterans for IT Training and Career Placement Program; Application Deadline February 10, 2015

ROCKVILLE, Md., Dec. 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- A Maryland-based nonprofit is recruiting post-9/11 military service veterans to join a world-class technology training and employment program this spring. Up to 20 training slots are available for an intensive three-month residential course that begins in Potomac, Maryland on March 2. Applications are due by close of business on Tuesday, Feb. 10.

The training program is offered by NS2 Serves (www.NS2Serves.org), an independent nonprofit launched by SAP National Security Services, Inc.™ (SAP NS2™) to address veterans unemployment and to give back to the community it serves. Full-time, paid participants are trained in SAP software solutions that support a variety of U.S. government and business missions. Graduates will earn "Certified SAP Associate" status – a globally recognized certification that is highly valuable in many career paths. Trainees also receive guidance from business mentors and placement assistance for work in the U.S. national security field or elsewhere in SAP's vast network.

The course is open to post-9/11 U.S. military service veterans, including disabled veterans, and Gold Star spouses. Preference will be given to those who have recently returned from war zones and are seeking their first post-separation opportunity. Joe Kernan (Vice Admiral, US Navy, Ret.), a 30-year veteran of the Navy SEAL team, who is Chairman of the NS2 Serves Board of Directors, said, "Our two classes in 2014 were great successes, producing 37 veterans who are now trained, certified and prepared for new careers in IT and data management. Like Kernan, NS2 Serves Executive Director Stephen Kupcha is also a former Navy SEAL. Graduates of the program have secured positions at leading companies and government agencies including CSC, Accenture Federal, SAP National Security Services, SAP America, SRA International, and HCL Technologies, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
