Nominations Open for the 2017 Invest in Others Awards

NEWTON, Mass., Jan. 30, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Invest in Others Charitable Foundation is currently accepting nominations for the 2017 Invest in Others Awards, previously known as the Community Leadership Awards. The program recognizes the charitable work of financial advisors and financial services firms in communities across the country and around the world.

The program's name change comes after Invest in Others celebrated its 10^th anniversary last September. The Foundation's leadership felt that the time was right to simplify its branding as the organization continues to grow. "Many advisors and executives in the financial advice industry knew of the Community Leadership Awards program, but didn't realize it was run by the Invest in Others Charitable Foundation, and vice-versa," said Megan McAuley, Executive Director and President of Invest in Others. "By renaming the program, we're able to focus on Invest in Others becoming a household name for advisors."

Nominations for the Invest in Others Awards are accepted in the following categories:

• Catalyst
• Community Service
• Global Community Impact
• Volunteer of the Year
• Lifetime Achievement
• Corporate Philanthropy – Advisory Firms
• Corporate Philanthropy – Financial Institutions

Winners and finalists will receive a donation of up to $25,000 for their designated non-profits. "Our awards program can be a game-changer for advisors and their charities," said Ms. McAuley. "It's a great opportunity to raise awareness and visibility, which channels even more funding to the non-profit."

Winners will be announced at the eleventh annual Invest in Others Awards Gala, scheduled for Thursday, September 28, 2017 in New York City. Top sponsors of the event include Allianz and Fidelity Investments.
