Nominations Now Open for the SANS 2016 Difference Makers Awards
Awards Program Honors Security Practitioners that are Succeeding in the Fight Against Cyber Attackers
BETHESDA, Md., Sept. 28, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- SANS Institute, the global leader in information security training, today announced that the call for nominations for the SANS 2016 Difference Makers Awards is now open. SANS is accepting nominations for individuals, teams and groups from within the SANS community who implemented security processes or technology in 2016 that resulted in meaningful and measurable advances in security.
"The SANS Difference Makers Awards were created as a way to honor the unsung heroes within the security community. There are many security professional succeeding in protecting their business or government agency, but the press attention only goes to the failures. Submissions are due October 14, 2016. Nominations will be evaluated by a team from SANS, security industry analysts and thought leaders. Awards categories include:

- Securing the Human
- Vertical Industry Difference Makers: ICS, Healthcare, Government, etc.
Winners of SANS' People Who Made a Difference in Security award program will be honored on Thursday, December 15th at the SANS Cyber Defense Initiative training event in Washington D.C.
