"Education opens students up to the wider world beyond the edge of their neighborhood. To do that, I need a well-supplied classroom — that's why Tools for Schools is important," said Derek Tahara, an elementary school teacher in the Sacramento City Unified School District.
"After offering our Education Matters teacher grants program in 2016, we heard first-hand from hundreds of teachers about the critical need for classroom materials. Because we were founded by teachers over 80 years ago, we are committed to developing innovative ways to support schools, teachers, students and families in the communities we serve," said Schools Financial Credit Union President/CEO, Tim Marriott. "Our Tools for Schools program will award bulk quantities of critically-needed classroom supplies to area schools," said Marriott.
Anyone may nominate a school until September 15, 2017, and may donate to the program until August 31, 2017. "Donate and Nominate" is the theme of this program that will ultimately help thousands of students.
