EXETER, N.H., June 22, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Nolan Patrick, a projected No. 1 pick in the 2017 NHL Draft, has joined Bauer Hockey as an official partner of the world's leading manufacturer of hockey equipment.
Wherever Patrick plays in 2017-18, the 6-foot-3 center from the Western Hockey League's Brandon Wheat Kings will flash his skills in Bauer's latest gear. The Winnipeg native will be outfitted from head-to-toe with elite Bauer equipment, including the brand's new Supreme 1S stick and Supreme 1S skate.
Patrick joins 2017 Calder Trophy winner and 2016 No. 1 NHL draft pick Auston Matthews — along with 2017 Calder finalists Patrik Laine and Zach Werenski — on Bauer's growing team of world-class young partners.
Bauer athletes include hockey's most-complete and most-inspiring players who help grow excitement and participation in the sport. As part of this strategy, the brand seeks partnerships with up-and-coming NHL stars who become outstanding role models for younger, aspiring hockey players at all levels around the world.
"We're excited that Nolan has joined us as he launches his pro career," said Mary-Kay Messier, Vice President of Marketing, Bauer Hockey. "Auston, Patrik and Zach stepped right into the NHL as elite professionals, and just like them, Nolan is an extremely talented, dynamic young player.
"It probably won't be long before Nolan is wowing NHL fans and, more importantly, helping his team with leadership-caliber performances and contributions."
Patrick helped lead the Wheat Kings into the Memorial Cup Tournament in 2015-16. He scored 41 goals and 61 assists in 72 regular-season games, then followed up with 13 goals and 17 assists in 21 postseason contests.
Last season, Patrick had 20 goals and 26 assists in 33 games for Brandon. His father, Steve, and uncle, James, both played in the NHL.
"Our Elite Athlete Services team, led by Jim Geary, has done a great job of building relationships with world class athletes and showing how Bauer can help them take their games to even higher levels," Messier added. "Players like Nolan show their excitement and passion for hockey every time they get on the ice. They represent the young, dynamic players making an impact on fans and the game."
Bauer's Supreme 1S stick has a RenewCore blade, the only stick blade with a pressurized gel core that remains in a liquid state to improve durability and power. See how the RenewCore technology works at https://www.bauer.com/player-ice-hockey-sticks/supreme/1s-composite-stick.
The Supreme 1S skate's C-FLEX technology allows players to customize the tongue and tendon guard for optimal range of motion so they can generate the most explosive strides possible. The Supreme 1S TITANIUM CURV® COMPOSITE boots anatomically wrap players' feet for maximum energy transfer and increased power.
Bauer's social media team will document Patrick's day at the draft running up to and through his selection. The draft's first round will begin at 7 p.m. ET. Follow Bauer on Twitter at @BauerHockey, on Instagram at bauerhockey and on Facebook under Bauer Hockey, Inc.
