Nogales, AZ School District #1 Receives High-Speed Internet Access and Fiber- Based Broadband Services
Supported Through the Federal E-Rate Program
CHARLOTTE, N.C. and NOGALES, Ariz., May 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Conterra Broadband Services, a national provider of managed fiber-based Ethernet solutions, has completed the deployment of a 100% fiber optical network to provide Internet Access and data, video and Voice over IP (VoIP) transport requirements for the Nogales School District #1. Consisting of six elementary, two middle, two high school educational facilities and one administrative facility, Nogales School District #1 is located in the Tucson-Nogales combined statistical area in Southern Arizona and serves approximately 6,200 students.
Conterra's multi-year contract to provide high-speed Internet Access and high-quality broadband services is partially funded through the federal Universal Service E-Rate program. The managed wide area network solution is a point-to-point fiber network providing speeds of 1 Gigabit per second to each Nogales school facility and is scalable to 100 Gigabits per second with no supplementary construction.
