NJTC to Provide Free Information Technology Training
MT. LAUREL, N.J., June 8 /PRNewswire/ -- The NJTC is partnering with the CompTIA Educational Foundation to provide free information technology training and certifications for people historically under-represented in the IT industry. Returning veterans, at-risk youth, dislocated workers and individuals with disabilities are a few of the groups that can benefit from this premier program.
In addition to the 24x7 online training, participants have access to mentoring and other resources. The initial training and certification, which can be completed in three to four months, provides the skills necessary to become a basic computer technician. Participants can choose to continue their training with courses leading to certification in networking, server operations, security and convergence.
"CompTIA provides industry-leading IT training and certification so we are very excited to be able to help them offer this service to people in New Jersey," said Maxine Ballen, NJTC Founder and CEO. "This is an outstanding opportunity for people who may lack resources, but are interested in meaningful, well-paying technology careers."
"We developed this education program, called Creating Futures, to help provide the IT industry with a diverse, well-trained workforce and to help people achieve successful, long-term careers," stated Dennis Zimmerman, director of the CompTIA Educational Foundation. "We certainly hope that a number of people in New Jersey will seize this opportunity."
Individuals interested in the training can find more information about the Creating Futures program by going to http://www.njtc.org/edfndn/network.asp and clicking the CompTIA Educational Foundation icon. It is recommended, but not required, that applicants have basic computer knowledge.
