NJHA Applauds Congressional Delegation Members for Supporting the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015
PRINCETON, N.J., March 26, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Following is a Statement from Elizabeth A. Ryan, Esq., President and CEO, New Jersey Hospital Association:
On behalf of its members, the New Jersey Hospital Association thanks the members of the New Jersey Congressional Delegation who voted in favor of H.R. 2, the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015. This bipartisan legislation will repeal the flawed Sustainable Growth Rate formula for physician payments under the Medicare program.
The leadership and foresight of our delegation to support this legislation is greatly appreciated. If signed into law, this bill will go a long way toward stabilizing access to physician care for Medicare beneficiaries for years to come.
NJHA is disappointed that some payment reductions for acute and post-acute providers were used to partially offset the cost of H.R. 2; however, NJHA supports the overall legislation, and we applaud House members for their decisive action on this bill.
