NJCU's M.S. in Finance Program Accepted Into CFA Institute University Recognition Program
JERSEY CITY, N.J., Jan. 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The New Jersey City University Master of Science in Finance Program has been accepted into the CFA Institute University Recognition Program.
University Recognition Program status is granted to programs that incorporate at least 70% of the CFA Program Candidate Body of Knowledge™ (CBOK), including the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct, into their curricula. Entry into the CFA Program signifies that the NJCU M.S. in Finance Program curriculum is closely tied to professional practice and prepares students for CFA examinations.
As a member of the CFA Program, NJCU is eligible to award five CFA Program Awareness Scholarships each fiscal year.
NJCU's M.S. in Finance Program offers students a traditional core graduate curriculum in finance combined with a specialization in one of three professional areas: financial analysis, financial planning, or financial management. The capstone of the program is a major project relevant to the student's specialization that connects the concepts and skills developed in the program with professional practice.
"Entry into the CFA Institute's University Recognition Program provides additional validation that NJCU's curriculum provides students with a strong foundation and prepares them to earn the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation, one of the most respected and recognized investment credentials in the world," said Dr. Bernard McSherry, interim dean of NJCU's School of Business.
CFA Institute is the global association of investment professionals that sets the standard for developing the skills, standards, competence, and integrity of financial analysts, portfolio managers, investment advisers, and other investment professionals worldwide. CFA Institute has more than 110,000 members in 139 countries and territories, including 100,000 charter holders.
