NJCU's Gothic Greats Athletics Reunion On September 26 To Celebrate 5 Decades Of Excellence; Teams, Individuals Honored
JERSEY CITY, N.J., Sept. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- New Jersey City University's "Gothic Greats Athletics Reunion 2014" will celebrate five decades of athletics excellence on Friday, September 26, honoring ten outstanding individuals whose support and spirit for the athletics program has earned each of them the honorary title of "Knight of Distinction" and 14 teams that made their unique mark on NJCU Athletics. Proceeds from the dinner will benefit the University's Athletics Department.
The fundraising reunion will be held, 6:00 - 10:00 p.m., at Casino-in-the-Park at 1 Lincoln Park in Jersey City. The reunion will kick-off at 6:00 p.m. Dinner will follow at 7:00 p.m.

Knights of Distinction to be honored at the event will be:
--David Armstrong '91 of Glen Burnie, MD, baseball (pitcher 1988-89), assistant in the Sports Information Office (1989-91) and current Athletics Hall of Fame committee member
--Judith Bender '70, '75 M.A. of Jersey City, member of the Intercollegiate Athletic Council and fan of distinction
--Charles Brown '65, '85 M.A. of West Orange, basketball standout (point guard, 1962-65) and all-time winningest Men's Basketball Coach (1982-2007)
--Laurie Hunt Cherry '93 of Jersey City, fan of distinction
--Ambassador Clay Constantinou (Ret.) '73, '99 (Hon.) of Colts Neck, soccer standout (line, 1969-71) and tennis team (first singles, 1969-73)
--Demond Hargrove '97, '01 M.A. of Union, football standout (defensive back, 1993-96) and current Athletics Hall of Fame committee member
--Ann McGovern of Jersey City, academic advisor to student/athletes and the Department of Athletics
--Dave Malefsky '78 of Cedar Grove, soccer (goalkeeper, 1973--77) and baseball (first base, 1974-78) standout
--John J. Moore '56 of Teaneck, basketball standout (point guard, 1952-56) and fan of distinction, and Carmela Moore of Teaneck, fan of distinction.
