NJCU Presidential Speaker Series Celebrates New Jersey's 350th Anniversary With Renowned Scientist Dr. Michio Kaku
JERSEY CITY, N.J., Nov. 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- One of the world's most recognized figures in modern science, Dr. Michio Kaku, will appear on Tuesday, December 9 at 6:30 p.m. at the Liberty Science Center as part of New Jersey City University's (NJCU) Presidential Speaker Series. An acclaimed physicist, futurist, author, and radio and television personality, Dr. Kaku will be part of New Jersey's celebration of the 350th anniversary of its founding. This program is the second in the inaugural series, which is based on the NJ350 themes of Liberty, Innovation and Diversity.
Called a modern-day Einstein, Dr. Kaku is the author of numerous New York Times best-selling books, including his most recent, The Future of the Mind: The Scientific Quest to Understand, Enhance and Empower the Mind. The theoretical physicist and science popularizer has starred in science programs on the Discovery Channel, the Science Channel, BBC, ABC and the History Channel. He is a regular guest on news programs including those on CBS, Fox, CNBC, MSNBC and CNN, and has appeared on major talk shows, including "The Colbert Report," "The Late Show," "The Tonight Show," and others.
Dr. Kaku has been a featured columnist for science publications from Wired and Cosmos to Popular Mechanics. He is also the author of several scholarly, doctoral level textbooks and is a regular contributor to physics journals. With a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, Dr. Kaku holds the Henry Semat Chair and Professorship in Physics at the City College of New York and is a visiting professor at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton.
