NIRI Philadelphia Congratulates Chapter Members Who Passed Inaugural Investor Relations Charter (IRC) Exam

PHILADELPHIA, April 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Philadelphia Chapter of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) today congratulates four of its members who are among the Inaugural Class of Investor Relations Charter (IRC™) holders, a brand new credential awarded by NIRI for demonstrating proficiency and professionalism in Investor Relations.
Philadelphia-area based investor relations professionals Mark J. Donohue, IRC, vice president investor relations and corporate communications, Impax Laboratories; Jennifer K. Driscoll, IRC, director of investor relations, DuPont; John E. Shave III, IRC, senior vice president, investor relations and corporate communications, Safeguard Scientifics; and Shawn Southard, IRC, principal, 19 Squared IR. They will be honored during the 2016 NIRI Annual Conference in San Diego, CA, on June 5 - 8.
In addition, NIRI Philadelphia Board members Joe Hassett, senior vice president, Gregory FCA, Mark Donohue and Shawn Southard were among the investor relations professionals who developed the Body of Knowledge and job analysis on which the IRC program is based.
The new IRC program establishes a common framework to define the profession of investor relations and provides IR professionals with the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge, expertise, and commitment to the profession. The IRC is NIRI's first professional credential, and the program is dedicated to advancing the practice of investor relations and the professional competency and stature of IR professionals.
To earn and maintain the IRC credential, a candidate must meet educational and professional experience requirements, adhere to the IRC Code of Conduct and to NIRI's Code of Ethics, pass the IRC exam, and participate in ongoing professional development activities. The next IRC examination testing window will be September 10 - 17, 2016. The initial application deadline is June 30.
