Nine Dragons Goes Live with X-Trim; Receives Greycon Rapid Implementation Award
LONDON, Oct. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Greycon Ltd., a world leader in supply chain optimisation for the paper, printing, film and nonwovens industries, today announced that Nine Dragons Paper Industries Co., Ltd., the largest producer of containerboard products in China, has been presented with the Rapid Implementation Award for its recent implementation of X-Trim at the Taicang production mill. The award is granted by the Greycon Board of Directors to clients whose project teams have demonstrated industry best practice, dedication and exceptional speed in the task of implementing Greycon products within their organisations.
Nine Dragons' evaluation process for a trim optimisation solution had lasted more than two years, and included extensive on-site trials to ensure that the chosen software would deliver the stringent efficiency savings required by Nine Dragons. Greycon successfully demonstrated the value which X-Trim can bring by maximising the possible output and value from each roll of paper, making production schedules as efficient as possible.
Once the contract had been signed, on-site project teams from both Greycon and Nine Dragons began working together to plan the implementation, which included a critical factor of tight integration with SAP. Close project management by both Greycon and Nine Dragons ensured that Greycon was able to deliver the necessary integration deliverables on schedule, enabling the project to be ready for go-live within the desired 6-week timeframe. The Taicang mill went live on X-Trim 1st August 2010, exactly on schedule. The on-time go-live has subsequently been replicated at the Chongqing and Tianjin mills; more mills are planned for the coming months as Nine Dragons supports its ambitious growth plans with further roll-outs of Greycon products.
David Zhang, Nine Dragons' CIO, stated "It has been a great project in that every detailed step designed within the technical contract was carried out exactly on schedule with quality deliverables. This was achieved by the cooperation and hard work of the project team. The stable and efficient integration between X-Trim and our SAP system has given Nine Dragons the confidence to apply X-trim to more mills, as well as to roll out more Greycon supply chain management functionality in Phase II of our project."
Commenting on the presentation of the award, Constantine Goulimis, CEO of Greycon, stated "It is a credit to the teams from both Nine Dragons and Greycon, and to the quality of the Greycon Product Suite, that we have been able to achieve these first milestones in Nine Dragons' ambitious project timeline. We are delighted that Nine Dragons is now reaping the significant benefits of X-Trim in both trim efficiency and planner productivity."
