NEW YORK, May 26, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- America's most-watched daily business program, The Nightly Business Report distributed by PBS, announced today that it will also be broadcast by SiriusXM nationally 5 nights per week starting May 30, 2011. The 30-minute summary of the day's most important business and economic news and trends is hosted by veteran broadcasters Susie Gharib and Tom Hudson, with reporters based in Miami, Washington, New York and Chicago. NBR is consistently television's most-watched evening business news program, broadcast by more than 350 local PBS stations.
"We are delighted to offer radio listeners the quality business news coverage produced by the team at Nightly Business Report," said Mykalai Kontilai, Chairman & CEO of NBR Worldwide, Inc. which produces the show. "We know SiriusXM radio listeners will find 'NBR' to be a substantive, fair and balanced program that will meet the very highest journalistic standards in business news."
The Emmy® award-winning Nightly Business Report has been on the air for 33 years, and is America's longest running business program. It covers in detail every major business and economic story of the past three decades. NBR created business coverage on TV, at a time when the only media available to track business news stories were the daily newspapers. Every weeknight, Nightly Business Report distills the essence of what matters in the business world, and provides analysis and reflection so the news has meaning. In a lively half-hour, NBR empowers viewers to make better financial decisions.
SiriusXM will broadcast the program weeknights at 7:00 pm ET on SiriusXM Public Radio (XM channel 121 and Sirius channel 205 with Sirius Premier), with an encore presentation airing at 10:00 pm ET nightly.
Nightly Business Report's national sponsor is Franklin Templeton Investments.
