NH Teamsters Condemn Senate Vote Against the Middle Class
Right-to-Work's Sole Purpose Is To Destroy Unions
MANCHESTER, N.H., April 20, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Teamsters Local 633 Principal Officer Dave Laughton today said union members are grateful for Gov. John Lynch's pledge to veto a right-to-work bill to destroy unions.
"We are so fortunate to have a leader in Governor Lynch who will stand up for the middle-class against this divisive legislation," Laughton said.
Laughton condemned passage of the anti-worker legislation by the Senate. The bill passed by a vote of 16-8.
"This is New Hampshire, not Wisconsin," Laughton said. "We need to work together to improve our economy instead of attacking workers.
"This deplorable legislation is just another attempt by right-wing conservatives to erode the American middle-class."
The House of Representatives passed right-to-work to destroy unions legislation earlier this year.
