More than 10 years ago the City of Louisville, Jefferson County Public Schools, Metro United Way and other partners joined forces to lower the city's high school dropout rate. As part of the solution, the community deployed TraxSolutions, an nFocus early-warning system to provide "real time" data on students and help identify potential dropouts and recommend the most effective interventions.
"This data has proven invaluable to us in our decision making and demonstrating our success in lowering the dropout rate," said Mary Kate Poling, senior vice president of Community Impact, Metro United Way. "The system has helped us make informed decisions, for instance, about resources allocation and how best to supply high-quality educational opportunities both during and after school hours."
To expand the reach of TraxSolutions in Louisville, nFocus hired Ben Johnson as project manager and an onsite resource to Metro United Way. Johnson previously served as assistant director of the Louisville Metro Office of Youth Development.
"We've been this coalition's partner for nearly a decade and other communities have modeled their success," said Ananda Roberts, president of nFocus Software. "Opening an office onsite will assist them in taking their efforts to the next level."
In addition to Louisville, nFocus Software also has offices in Phoenix, Ariz., Chicago, Ill., Austin, Texas, Orlando, Fla., Leavenworth, Kan., and Fort Sill, Okla.
