Unequal CEO Rob Vito, Warner, and state legislators including Pennsylvania Senate Majority Leader Dominic Pileggi and Rep. Stephen Barrar highlighted the importance of disseminating key information to parents, coaches, trainers and athletes about the "three T's": training, technique and technology.
"I was looking for the best protection to put on my kids and heard about Unequal. I had my boys try the product head to toe, and they finished the season with no head issues, no injuries," Warner said. "I reached out to Unequal to see how I could help, because Unequal was performing like nothing I'd ever seen. I really like Unequal's Play It Safe program, because it combines training, technique and protective technology in a way that shows care for the whole athlete. I now know that Unequal is a brand I can trust to be out front to help my kids and other athletes avoid or reduce injuries."
Unequal makes supplemental padding for the head, body and feet available to players, parents, coaches and trainers. The Play It Safe program takes proper protection a step further by advocating for specific training and techniques to optimize safe competition in sports of all levels.
A balance of different training methods is recommended through Play It Safe, including but not limited to strength training, speed work, plyometric exercises and sports-specific training.
Instruction on proper techniques is also key to helping mitigate injuries in sports competition. Leagues across the country have committed to a new tackling technique aimed at making football safer, called Heads Up TacklingSM. Developed for youth football by USA Football, the technique is backed by the NFL, the NFL Players Association and Unequal.
"One of the keystones of Unequal is keeping kids safe," said Vito. "It's great to connect with a genuine family man like Kurt Warner who understands the need for better protection, especially for kids. Play It Safe is all about access to critical information related to the three T's: training, technique and technology. Unequal delivers the best protective technology to athletes, and by providing input on proper techniques and training, the Play It Safe program helps reduce wear and tear on the body even more."

Remember, head and body protection are the second line of defense. Being careful and responsible is the first priority. Helmet and body pads do have limitations. No helmet pad can prevent or eliminate the risk of concussions or other serious head injuries while playing sports. Scientists have also not reached agreement on how the results of impact absorption tests relate to concussions. No conclusions about a reduction of risk or severity of concussive injury should be drawn from impact absorption tests. Unequal products are not bulletproof, bullet-resistant, stab-resistant or stab-proof. Obey the rules and "Code of Conduct" of the particular sport, game or activity.
