NFHS Network and Georgia Lottery Present Football Fridays In Southeast
Three-Hour Live Show Features Playoff Analysis and Coverage Across Seven States
ATLANTA, Nov. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The NFHS Network, the leader in capturing the passion, pride, and energy of the high school experience by delivering live sports and events, announced today its second season of live original programming featuring a comprehensive look at high school football playoffs across the Southeast. Southeast Football Fridays presented by the Georgia Lottery is anchored by Joel Hillsman and Scott Janovitz airing every Friday night featuring game analysis, live score updates and look-ins to more than 75 football games each week from across the region – more than any other football show in the Southeast. The three-hour program can be viewed live each Friday night at www.NFHSnetwork.com.
The NFHS Network offers live coverage of more high school football games and high school sports events than anyone else across the country through its School Broadcast Program. Regular season game coverage is provided by school-produced broadcasts from member NFHS Network School Broadcast Program schools. Almost 400 schools from across the Southeast are part of the program that provides hands-on broadcast experience for students. The NFHS Network provides the technology and training for schools to self-produce regular season sporting events and school activities. Post-season playoff games and championships are produced and aired live by the NFHS Network.
As part of the Georgia Lottery sponsorship, the NFHS Network also produces a Football Game of the Week in Georgia and recognizes a Scholar Athlete of the week from each team involved in that week's game. Those winners are recognized within the game broadcast as well as on the Southeast Football Friday show. All Scholar-Athletes of the Week are automatically entered into the pool of candidates for the Georgia Lottery Fall Scholar - Athletes of the Year to be announced during the GHSA football playoffs with the winners featured on the Southeast Friday Football show and the Football Game of the week on Friday November 21st..
"We are excited to have the Georgia Lottery as a sponsor," said Sandy Malcolm, Chief Content Officer, NFHS Network. "Their commitment to funding educational programs in Georgia is a natural fit for the NFHS Network. The sponsorship allows us to do more with the show in terms of production values. We are taking a big step in the overall production and scope of the show this year -- building upon key learning's from last year."
This year, in addition to our comprehensive coverage of Georgia high School football, the show expanded to include coverage of states throughout the southeast including Alabama, Tennessee, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina and Florida. Given the popularity of football throughout the region it was a natural progression for the show and the network.
The program is available to viewers to watch live for free at www.NFHSnetwork.com from 7:30 p.m. ET to 11:00 p.m. ET and is available on demand at the conclusion of the program.
