NFEC Launches Updated Financial Coaching Program by Offering One Year Free Financial Counseling
LOS ANGELES, July 3, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- To help average Americans gain access to financial professionals who can help them gain the knowledge they need to make appropriate financial decisions, the National Financial Educators Council has expanded its financial coaching program.
The NFEC is selecting up to 30 individuals to receive one year of financial coaching complimentary from our Certified Personal Finance Consultants. In exchange, those selected agree to provide feedback about the program and monitor their progress.

The NFEC financial coaching program is focused on providing support for the financial needs of the average person in the US. Individuals with substantial assets automatically have access to qualified information; however, those with more modest amounts have limited opportunity to get help when it comes to making financial decisions.
NFEC personal finance consultants conduct empirical analysis of personal finances, uncovering needs and goals; define clear objectives and prioritize action steps; and offer education, guidance, accountability, and support to help achieve a state of financial health and security.
For those interested in locating a personal finance coach, the NFEC has a national network of extremely well-qualified consultants available to help identify and work toward achieving individualized personal financial goals.
Those who graduate from the NFEC's updated coaching program demonstrate that they have met the highest standards for education, experience, and background. These graduates have passed background checks, hundreds of hours of education, and stringent testing requirements. They also successfully pass implementation and performance evaluations, conducting supervised coaching and reporting their hours and client outcomes.
The results and feedback from this initial group of up to 30 individuals who receive complimentary coaching will be used to make data-driven decisions on the Certified Personal Finance Consultant program, with an anticipated launch date set for November 2018.
The main goal of a personal finance coach certified by the NFEC is to provide guidance and education to those individuals who seek to improve their financial situations. Enlist the help of a coach who has a vested interest in your success and helps you work toward financial wellness by providing personalized coaching and education.
Our Certified Personal Finance Consultants take a 3-step approach when studying to become a financial coach: financial counseling:
1) Understanding & Planning. An extensive discovery meeting is conducted and your finances are reviewed. The person receiving coaching has their current financial standing, lifestyle needs, and future goals evaluated. Income streams, credit, assets and liabilities, and insurance are all analyzed.
2) Guidance & Education. Those selected for the program will have scheduled times to confer with the NFEC's personal finance consultant. These meetings provide education, resources, and training tailored to help you reach your specified goals. The objective is to help participants build strong capability to make informed financial decisions on their own. Detailed measures will occur to help track your progress and make data-driven decisions to help you work toward financial wellness.
3) Maintenance & Support. Once you have built the systems, gained appropriate knowledge, and adopted positive financial behaviors, your financial counselor can transition into a supportive role. You will have the leeway to make your own decisions, while they will be there to provide support when you require assistance. Whether teaching financial literacy to groups or individuals, ongoing support is important to assist in behavior adoption.
The National Financial Educators Council is a social enterprise organization committed to improving financial capabilities among the global community. The NFEC develops tools, and training to help people work toward greater financial knowledge. The NFEC's financial coaching services and product line represents one tool in the effort to address the financial illiteracy epidemic.
