Nexus Recognized by Cisco as a Physical Access Control Authorized Technology Provider in the United States
VALENCIA, Calif., May 23, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Nexus announced today that it has achieved Physical Access Control Authorized Technology Provider (ATP) status from Cisco, a certification within the suite of Cisco Connected Physical Security portfolio. This designation recognizes Nexus as having fulfilled the training requirements and program prerequisites to design, resell, install and maintain a full range of physical access control solutions.
Cisco® Physical Access Control is a comprehensive IP-based solution that uses the IP network as a platform for integrated security operations. It works with existing card readers, locks, and biometric devices and is integrated with Cisco Video Surveillance Manager and with Cisco IP Interoperability and Collaboration System (IPICS). Cisco Physical Access Control is a cost-effective solution that helps organizations protect their assets and the safety of their personnel. The Cisco solution connects physical and logical security within an organization, making it easier to manage the IP and physical security network.
"At Nexus, we engineer and deploy physical security systems that protect the people, places and things that are important, providing security as a service of the network. Our Physical Security team includes individuals who have achieved the highest levels of accreditation and certification in the security industry, with combined experience spanning decades," said Mike Heiman, Nexus Vice President of Engineering. "We're pleased to add the Cisco Physical Access Control ATP status to our technology portfolio, complementing our Video Surveillance ATP. We will continue to expand our physical security solutions as part of our complete portfolio of advanced and emerging technology offerings."
"As we move into new markets and emerging technologies, the Cisco Authorized Technology Provider Partners are instrumental in helping our customers turn innovative technology into a competitive advantage," said Steve Benvenuto, director of emerging technologies for worldwide channels at Cisco. "As a Cisco Physical Access Control ATP Partner, Nexus brings a unique set of skills to potential customers, combining a proven physical security track record with Cisco expertise."
To qualify for the Physical Access Control ATP Program, Nexus had to meet a number of requirements, from having staff who fulfill specific job responsibilities to achieving the Cisco Express Foundation Specialization. Those requirements are designed to help a partner maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
The Cisco ATP Program is a key part of Cisco's emerging technology go-to-market strategy.
