INDIANAPOLIS, Aug. 27, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Consumers can now download the NextRadio® app from Google Play to enjoy free FM radio on the new Samsung Galaxy Note9 that just hit the market. Samsung's Galaxy Note9 is the latest device to support NextRadio by integrating the FM Chip in their new smartphone model in North America.
"We are thrilled to see the number of Android phones with FM radio continue to grow. The launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note9 is especially exciting, as this model is a showcase for premium technology and industry-defining innovation. We look forward to the Galaxy Note9 being available to millions of users who will be able to listen to free radio on their phone in North America," said Paul Brenner, president of NextRadio.
This new smartphone release will allow more users the option to download the NextRadio app this year. The nextradioapp.com supported device page has been updated to reflect the new phone and carrier information.
"Market leaders like Samsung continue to provide users an immersive radio experience," said Brenner. "Through the free NextRadio app, Galaxy Note9 consumers can listen to live, local radio stations. Also, when cellular coverage is congested or unavailable, the FM chip will provide life-saving information from local radio stations."
With the NextRadio app, consumers have the ability to listen to the best live music, sports and talk experience via local over-the-air FM radio, while experiencing interactive music content, promotions and ads synced to the on-air broadcast. The direct connection to the phone's FM chip allows users to take radio with them on the go. Users can also easily view what's playing on the app's Live Guide and choose from their favorite stations.
The Samsung Galaxy Note9 will be available in North America on August 24, 2018.
