Nextgov Launches Technology Innovation Awards Program
The Nextgov Bold Awards will Celebrate Breakthrough Advancements in Leveraging IT to Improve Government
WASHINGTON, March 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Government Executive Media Group today announced the launch of the Nextgov Bold Awards, an editorial program designed to recognize federal professionals who are leading the transformation of government by implementing innovative new programs, practices and systems relying on technology.
As the technology division of Government Executive Media Group, Nextgov is the #1 federal IT website in overall traffic1 and is visited daily by more federal managers than any other site dedicated to federal technology.2 Coming off record traffic in 2012, Nextgov has continued to see explosive grow in early 2013, growing 47% year-to-date over 2012 levels.3 Nextgov was recently honored as a finalist for Best Web Site by the Jesse H. Neal Awards, the premier recognition program for business media.
"Nextgov's mission is to lead the national discussion about how technology and innovation can transform the way government operates and serves citizens," said Katherine McIntire Peters, Executive Editor for Nextgov. "The Nextgov Bold Awards aim to highlight these stories, building energy around what it means to innovate and collaborate in federal technology."
The Nextgov Bold Awards will recognize federal employees at any level who have come up with fresh, innovative ideas for leveraging technology to improve the way government operates. Nextgov is accepting awards nominations now through May 17th at Nextgov.com/bold-awards.
Finalists for the Bold Awards will be selected by the Nextgov editorial team and announced on Nextgov.com in early summer. Honors will include awards going to both teams and individuals, as well as one People's Choice award voted on by Nextgov readers across the summer. Award winners will be announced at a special celebration at Nextgov Prime, a two day event dedicated to the role of technology in transforming government, on October 15th-16th in Washington, D.C. For more information on Nextgov Prime, visit Nextgov.com/prime.
"We're looking for people who have implemented innovative, and at times provocative, programs, policies or management practices relying on technology," stated Peters. "They have moved government in a new direction and challenged their peers to think and work differently. In the process, they've contended with numerous risks to push their ideas through. And they have the results to show for it."
The Nextgov Bold Awards are exclusively underwritten by Cisco.
