NextAlarm(R) Monitoring Services, Inc. Announces Distribution Deal with ARCOM Telecom
OJAI, Calif., March 22 /PRNewswire/ -- North American alarm monitoring and technology provider NextAlarm(R) Monitoring Services, Inc. today announced a strategic partnership with ARCOM Telecom Ltd., a technology distributor serving Canadian telephony and cable service providers. Under the agreement, ARCOM will distribute all of NextAlarm's products and services to its network of providers and resellers. NextAlarm(R) CEO Alex Elliot said, "NextAlarm looks forward to working with ARCOM to bring the NextAlarm services to customers in Canada. These customers will appreciate the significant value that we provide, as well as the next-generation technologies that they represent." ARCOM CEO Rob Lane stated, "ARCOM knows that there is a demand for security solutions from our partners and we are excited to partner with NextAlarm to deliver these solutions to consumers throughout Canada."
Among the technologies to be offered is the VoIPAlarm(R) IP signal transport service, which allows security equipment designed for standard non-digital telephone lines to communicate over broadband Internet connections. Without this service, an alarm system will stop reliably communicating with its monitoring center when connected to a cable or Voice-over-IP phone line. This can often occur without the system's owner realizing that there is a problem and that their security has been compromised.
ARCOM will also distribute NextAlarm's NextView(TM) IP security cameras and video surveillance service. Using NextView(TM), a homeowner can access live or past video of their property from any computer with an Internet connection, or with an iPhone(TM) using the NextView(TM) iPhone(TM) app. NextView(TM) is unique in that it is entirely server-based and does not require any on-site equipment other than the cameras themselves. When an alarm is triggered, the user can watch a video clip starting ten seconds before the alarm event without needing to purchase or maintain any data storage equipment.
Finally, ARCOM will provide a channel to NextAlarm's expertise and technology for taking over monitoring of previously installed alarm systems. NextAlarm(R) is a leader in this field, and offers professional-quality monitoring service at UL-listed central stations at much lower prices than competitors. By focusing on reprogramming existing systems rather than installing new ones, NextAlarm(R) avoids charging customers for new equipment and installation fees.
