NextAlarm® Releases Android™ App for NextView IP Camera Service

OJAI, Calif., July 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- NextAlarm® Monitoring Services, Inc., an alarm monitoring service provider and technology developer operating across North America, today announced the impending release of the NextView app to the Android™ Market. NextView is a video surveillance service and line of wireless cameras that work on their own, or tie into any security alarm system monitored through the VoIPAlarm signal processing platform. As of August 1, the service is available to millions of Android tablet and phone owners.

The line of NextView cameras currently includes a fixed camera and a movable camera with remote pan and tilt. An outdoor camera and a lighted camera for low-light conditions will release soon. All the cameras feature customized firmware that allows the NextView service to react to any alarm event. When an alarm panel reports an event through the VoIPAlarm platform, the system provides the customer and authorized dealer with video prior to and after the alarm event. Using a proprietary buffering technology, the camera continually captures and discards small amounts of video footage. When an alarm occurs or motion is detected, the camera uploads the buffer to the NextAlarm servers, which includes video taken just before the event. The subscriber or authorized dealer can thus view the seconds leading up to an event, as well as video taken after the event occurred.

The new Android app offers full access to the NextView service. Users are able to view all footage archived on their accounts at any time, using an intuitive calendar interface or by selecting from a list of alarm signals and other events. The app also allows for live viewing of up to 16 cameras, and works over 3G or WiFi.

The new NextView app for Android devices is available as of August 1, 2011, on the Android Marketplace.
