NextAlarm Announces Major Upgrade to Reseller Program
OJAI, Calif., Nov. 11, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Nationwide alarm service provider and technology developer NextAlarm Monitoring Services, Inc. today announced an expansion of its reseller program. The program, previously targeted primarily at other companies within the alarm industry, now allows retailers, distributors, and non-alarm service providers to offer all of NextAlarm's services to their customers. The program is geared towards allowing partners to offer NextAlarm services quickly and easily, with a minimum of effort required to get started. The upgrade represents extensive development in NextAlarm's business model, as well as in its administrative back end based on the company's patented Alarm System Activation Platform, or ASAP (US patent 7,613,278 B2).
Although NextAlarm has had a reseller program in place for several years, it has until now only been available to licensed alarm installers and other companies within the security industry. The partners NextAlarm targets with the new program include any company offering household services in the tech and telecommunications fields, but not traditionally including security alarm systems. The new platform is expressly designed to allow these companies to almost immediately begin marketing and offering alarm equipment and monitoring service to their customers, while the infrastructure needed to supply and support these services is provided by NextAlarm. Equipment fulfillment, technical support, new account activation, account management, and alarm signal management are handled through NextAlarm's new online process, while the partner can focus on marketing and basic customer service. Each of these tools are customizable and brandable based on the needs of the reseller.
One of NextAlarm's first partners under the new program is My Habitat Connection, a distribution network whose representatives offer a range of telecommunications products and services to customers. My Habitat Connection founder Joe Amendala commented, "We are always looking for new products that people genuinely need. Home security is an obvious one, but it's been difficult to find a provider that will work with the Internet phone service we already sell. NextAlarm was a perfect fit. Their technology makes them one of the few alarm providers that work with our Internet phone service, and their reseller platform is making deployment easy to integrate with our other offerings."
NextAlarm has been in operation since 2000, offering a number of different security-related products and services direct to consumers and through a reseller network including several hundred dealers. Historically, only the professional dispatch and VoIPAlarm services have been offered through resellers. Professional dispatch service offers traditional alarm monitoring, where live operators call subscribers and the police in response to alarms. VoIPAlarm passes signals from alarm systems over the Internet to other monitoring services, allowing a subscriber to keep their current monitoring service, while still taking advantage of NextAlarm's technologies for enhanced Internet-based alarm monitoring. NextAlarm also offers several other services, including NextView IP video monitoring, self monitoring, and alarm takeovers, which until now have only been available directly to end users. The expansion of NextAlarm's business model allows for resale of its complete range of products and services, for the first time. The patented Alarm System Activation Platform, or ASAP administrative framework required to manage the high volume of customers and alarm signals has undergone a major overhaul to accommodate the new business scenarios, and is crucial to the reseller program's ease of new service launch.
