LAS VEGAS, March 23, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The next generation of clean diesel technology for farm and construction equipment is being unveiled to the public this week at the international CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2011 convention in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Allen Schaeffer, the Executive Director of the Diesel Technology Forum, issued the following statement about the new technology being featured at the five-day convention, which has attracted more than 2,400 exhibitors.  The global convention is held every three years and is expected to draw more than 140,000 visitors.

"This week, clean diesel power is making a big, bold statement about its new levels of capability, environmental credentials and productivity gains.  In doing so, the technology is firmly established as the leader ready today to grow this economy and build our future.

That manufacturers can offer their customers so many equipment choices is only possible with the inherently scalable and low-emissions energy efficient clean diesel engine.

"Many manufacturers are using this global conference to introduce their machines which are now able to meet the incredibly challenging fourth-generation ('Tier 4') engine emissions standards, which are near zero levels when fully implemented.  A number of manufacturers are also making significant new product announcements in the vocational truck sector.  They too are doing so while providing their customers with greater energy efficiency and productivity. In today's economy, this combination is vitally important to contractors, farmers, industrial engine users, mining companies and aggregate suppliers.
