(Nasdaq Global Market: NEWT) ("Newtek" or "The Company") announced today that it has closed an underwritten offering of 2,300,000 shares of common stock at a public offering price of $16.50. The 2,300,000 shares include the underwriters' exercise of their option to purchase an additional 300,000 shares of Newtek Common Stock. The current outstanding share count at the close of this offering is approximately 12.6 million shares. Keefe, Bruyette & Woods, Inc., Raymond James & Associates, Inc. and JMP Securities LLC acted as joint bookrunners for this offering, and Ladenburg Thalmann & Co. Inc. and Compass Point Research & Trading, LLC acted as co-managers.
