NewsRx President to Speak at Specialized Information Publishers Association Division of the Software and Information Industry Association Conference
Latest Insights on Automated Journalism and Artificial Intelligence for Publishers and Journalism
WASHINGTON & ATLANTA, June 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- NewsRx, Atlanta, GA, today announced a speaking presentation at the Specialized Information Publishers Association (SIPA) Division of the Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA) Annual Conference 2016 taking place on June 6th - 8th, 2016 in Washington, DC. NewsRx will showcase how Artificial Intelligence and automation are ushering in a new era for the publishing industry and for journalism.
The SIPA Division of SIIA invited NewsRx President C.W. Henderson, PhD, to present on "State of the Art: Automated Journalism and Artificial Intelligence for Publishers" during the "Content Track" taking place on Tuesday, June 7th at 2:05 PM ET.
During this session, Henderson will present information based on news reports about three major early players developing these technologies: Narrative Science, NewsRx, and Automated Insights subsidiary of Vista Equity Partners-owned STATS LLC, as well as early adopters of machine writing: Forbes, Thomson Reuters, Associated Press (AP), NewsRx and Los Angeles Times.
"When planning automation for journalism and publishing, we have learned that rather than having our computer code and natural language technologies NLP and NLG focus on creating information, that we needed to focus on creating knowledge instead. All information is not knowledge as we all find out when searching Google," Henderson said.
Henderson also will discuss automated article writing software, robot journalism, and artificial intelligence journalism.
