WALLDORF, Germany, Dec. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) today announced that Owens-Illinois (O-I) has successfully connected its enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems with the Tributary Administration of Peru leveraging SAP HANA® Cloud Integration technology, standard edition, and the SAP® Application Interface Framework tool. O-I, a Fortune 500 company and one of the world's leading and largest manufacturers of glass containers, went live on SAP HANA Cloud Integration for exchanging and simplifying integration of documents such as invoices, credit and debit notes for government compliance in Peru. The announcement was made at the Gartner Application Architecture, Development & Integration Summit, being held December 8-10 in Las Vegas.
"At Owens-Illinois, we have operations worldwide but this particular project was focused on connecting our global ERP systems with the Peruvian government systems," said Rodney Masney, vice president, Technology Service Delivery, Information Technology, Owens-Illinois. "SAP HANA Cloud Integration and globalization services teamed up to help us realize a business-to-government (B2G) scenario with all the necessary security requirements."
SAP HANA Cloud Integration, standard edition, provides process and data integration capabilities to connect cloud and on-premise enterprise systems in real time with technology that is natively engineered for the cloud. It supports the integration of SAP and non-SAP applications and comes complete with customizable prepackaged integration content for SAP applications.
"SAP HANA Cloud Integration helps companies jump start their integration projects and shorten the time to value to deliver real-time business innovation to customers and end-users," said Greg McStravick, senior vice president, Database and Technology, SAP. "In most countries, e-documents have to be exchanged with government systems for legal and tax compliance. As digital integration with administrative entities becomes ever more important, organizations are looking for cost-effective, packaged, standardized solutions to seamlessly integrate SAP back-office processes with corresponding government systems. One of the strong points in SAP HANA Cloud Integration is its capability to handle the complex security requirements with the various governments."
SAP Application Interface Framework runs with SAP applications in combination with SAP HANA Cloud Integration. It provides customizing-based tooling for interface implementation as well as user-friendly monitoring allowing flexibility for changing government requirements. SAP Application Interface Framework is an add-on to SAP Business Suite software used to implement and manage integration scenarios in heterogeneous system environments.
