WALLDORF, Germany, Aug. 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- SAP NEWSBYTE -- SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) today announced that ARC Advisory Group has named the company once again as a leader in the fields of transportation management systems (TMS) and warehouse management systems (WMS). In 2012 SAP was ranked similarly for both TMS and WMS.

In ARC's annual "Transportation Management Systems Market Study," SAP was ranked No. 1 in several categories. This report includes TMS market share estimates and projections for 2012-2017 for the overall software, services, maintenance, software-as-a-service (SaaS) and managed service categories broken by geography, industry and customer segment. SAP was named No. 1 in 13 categories overall, including:

  • No. 1 market share transportation management systems total revenue
  • No. 1 market share by software revenue
  • No. 1 in fleet management sector
  • No. 1 in EMEA
  • No. 1 in Asia
  • No. 1 travel and logistics non-asset based

According to the report: "2012 was a breakout year for SAP. SAP is now the leading provider of TMS to non-asset-based logistics service providers (LSPs) and the second largest supplier to asset-based LSPs."

In ARC's annual "Warehouse Management Systems Market Study," SAP was ranked No. 1 for software revenues. The overall market is estimated including services. Highlights of SAP's position for WMS include:

  • No. 1 WMS for software revenues
  • No. 1 automotive
  • No. 1 machinery
