News Advisory: 2018 Xtreme Eating Awards to be Unveiled Thursday
WASHINGTON, July 23, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The "winners" of the 2018 Xtreme Eating Awards will be released at 6:00 a.m. EDT on Thursday, July 26, 2018. First conferred in 2007, the Xtreme Eating Awards highlight menu items from America's chain restaurants that are shockingly high in calories, saturated fat, sodium, and/or added sugar. Center for Science in the Public Interest senior nutritionist Lindsay Moyer will be available for interviews. For embargoed copies and to schedule interviews, contact Jeff Cronin or Henry Duong.
The 2018 awards include Worst Way to Start the Day, Worst Cinematic Snack, Least Creative Mashup, Worst Revival, and other categories. The full list of winners will be published in the July/August issue of CSPI's flagship publication, Nutrition Action Healthletter. This is the first set of winners to be announced since calorie counts became mandatory on menus and menu boards at chains with 20 or more outlets nationwide.
