IRVINE, Calif., Aug. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Newport Corporation (Nasdaq: NEWP) today said it will ring the NASDAQ Stock Market opening bell next Monday, August 16, 2010, at 9:30 a.m. Eastern time (6:30 am Pacific time).  The company's Board of Directors and senior executives will be present for the opening ceremony, which will include remarks by Newport President and Chief Executive Officer Robert Phillippy.

The ceremony will be covered live on CNBC television at 9:30 a.m. Eastern time.
