Newly Launched Eurosceptic Think Tank Based in the Netherlands Hands in 40,000 Signatures to Dutch Parliament Demanding Inquiry Into the Decision to Adopt the Euro
AMSTERDAM, June 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
On Tuesday, June 2nd, 2015, at 1.30 PM, the Dutch eurosceptic think tank Forum for Democracy will present over 40,000 signatures to the Dutch Parliament in The Hague.
Forum for Democracy is a non-partisan think tank based in Amsterdam and founded on June 1st, 2015 - the date of the 10th anniversary of the Dutch no vote in the Referendum on the European Constitution.
The Forum campaigns for democratic accountability, international cooperation and national sovereignty. Seeking to develop new models for European free trade while enabling the Netherlands to remain independent and prosperous, the think tank strives for constitutional reforms in order to increase the direct influence of the Dutch population on the political decision making process.
The 40.000 signatures support the citizen's initiative that the Forum voor Democratie co-initiated under the name "Peuro" (http://www.peuro.nl). It requests the Dutch Parliament to hold a parliamentary inquiry into the decision of the Netherlands to adopt the euro.
