Newly Appointed Liberty Tire Recycling Executive to Focus on Emerging Industry of Rubberized Asphalt

PITTSBURGH, July 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Pittsburgh-based Liberty Tire Recycling, the premier provider of tire recycling services in the United States, is pleased to announce the appointment of Douglas D. Carlson as vice president of asphalt products.  In his new role, Mr. Carlson will help Liberty Tire Recycling focus on the emerging market of rubber asphalt.

Crumb rubber comprises 15- to 22-percent of the mix in rubberized asphalt, and Liberty Tire Recycling produces crumb rubber at a number of its facilities across North America.  The company has the capacity to produce more than 250 million pounds of crumb rubber per year.
