ST. LOUIS, Sept. 4, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- NewLeaf Symbiotics, the agricultural biologicals company engaged in discovery, development, production, and commercialization of biological products, announced today that Molly Edwards joined the growing NewLeaf team as Vice President and General Counsel.
Molly Edwards joined the growing NewLeaf team from her most recent role with Monsanto Company. She brings more than 14 years of legal experience, including managing intellectual property portfolios and strategy, and drafting licensing, commercial and technology agreements. NewLeaf's patented production process has exceeded expectations, allowing the company to manufacture, formulate and market soybean and peanut products at scale in 2018. "Molly brings the level of experience and expertise we need as our pace quickens and our commercial portfolio expands. Being able to attract someone of Molly's caliber says a lot about the value of the new class of agricultural biologics being developed by NewLeaf. We are really excited to have her on our management team," said Steve Kahn, senior vice president and chief financial officer, NewLeaf Symbiotics.
Edwards earned a law degree from Washington University St. Louis, School of Law. She has significant expertise in legal matters involving microbials, small organic molecules, compound synthesis, microbial and chemical formulations, methods of application, agricultural compositions and methods of treating seeds from previous positions with the Monsanto Company and Harness, Dickey & Pierce, P.L.C.
"I am excited about the strength and depth of industry experience of the NewLeaf management team and its Board of Directors, the clear direction of the company, and the novel processes, commercial products, and pipeline products. I look forward to participating in the strategy to drive continued success," said Edwards.
NewLeaf's Terrasym®, offers a new class of agricultural biologicals, with two nutrient enhancing products, Terrasym 401 for soybeans and Terrasym 402 for peanuts, commercially available in the US.
