Newday Investing and Conservation International Partner In Donation Campaign To Protect Rainforests
Newday to Donate $5 to Conservation International for Every New Account Opened Through October 31; One Acre of Rainforest Protected for Every Five Sign-Ups
SAN FRANCISCO and ARLINGTON, Va., Oct. 2, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Newday Investing and Conservation International today announced they are partnering in Conservation International's mission to protect nature as a source of food, fresh water, livelihoods, and a stable climate. As part of that effort, Newday is donating $5 to Conservation International's "Protect an Acre" rainforest conservation program for every new investment account opened through Newday, beginning today through October 31, 2018.
As a further incentive, investors who enter NEWDAY5 into the Newday app will receive a new account award of five dollars. The award will be accessible six months after account opening.
According to satellite data, tropical forests are being destroyed at a rate of about 31,000 square miles a year—an area equivalent in size to the state of South Carolina. Investors opening new accounts with Newday, however, can help limit this loss; for every five new accounts opened during Newday's October campaign, one acre of rainforest will be protected via the "Protect an Acre" effort.
"Environmental justice is a global challenge, which is why Newday has chosen to partner with Conservation International, one of the world's most effective and far-reaching environmental organizations," said Doug Heske, CEO of Newday Financial Technologies, Inc., parent company of Newday Investing. "Its impact is felt across governmental jurisdictions and on nearly every continent. Through our October campaign, we're joining with environmentally-conscious investors, as well as Conservation International, to reduce global deforestation."
