New York Foundling Teen Parents Receive New Donated Cribs

NEW YORK, Sept. 21, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- New and expectant young mothers received new cribs and playpens today at The New York Foundling's DeSales Mother Child Residence in Manhattan.  Delta Children's Products donated cribs and playpens in recognition of National Baby Safety Month this September, emphasizing the need for all parents to be equipped with safe sleeping and play products for their children.

The young mothers and moms-to-be are part of The New York Foundling's Blended Maternity and Mother Child program, with residences in Manhattan and the Bronx.  The program provides housing, childcare, counseling, parenting classes and job skills training for young teen mothers and mothers-to-be in foster care who often lack support systems and role models to teach them how to properly care for themselves and their babies.

The mothers watched a demonstration of how to safely assemble the products and participated in a question and answer session about crib safety with Delta Children's Products President and Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association Board Member Joe Shamie.
