New York Eye and Ear Infirmary and Continuum Health Partners Name Joseph M. Bernstein, MD, Director of Pediatric Ear-Nose-Throat
NEW YORK, March 2, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Joseph M. Bernstein, MD, has been appointed to the full-time faculty at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary as Director of Pediatric Otolaryngology for the Continuum Health Partners Otolaryngology Service Line. He will be working with the faculty at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, Beth Israel and Roosevelt Hospital to develop the Pediatric Otolaryngology Service and to further enhance the scope of pediatric services.
Dr. Bernstein graduated from Columbia University with honors. He obtained his medical degree and received his Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery residency training at New York University and its affiliated hospitals. He completed a Pediatric Otolaryngology fellowship at Baylor's Texas Children's Hospital in Houston. Dr. Bernstein returned to New York University Medical Center as a full-time faculty member and the Director of Pediatric Otolaryngology in 1998, where he held appointments in the Departments of Otolaryngology, Pediatrics, and Plastic Surgery. He expanded his practice to Westchester County in 2005 and to The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary in 2009.
Dr. Bernstein's practice spans the entire spectrum of pediatric otolaryngology with special interests in congenital malformations, airway disorders, sleep apnea, sinusitis and other common ENT infections. He is a recognized expert in the evaluation and management of children with craniofacial and cleft anomalies. He has authored numerous articles and chapters and he lectures nationally and internationally.
