NEW YORK, Nov. 29, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- The Global Awards®, honoring creative and marketing excellence in healthcare communications worldwide, announced its 2010 competition finalists who will compete for what is considered the most coveted honor in international healthcare communications.
In total, there were 148 finalists from 17 countries nominated, including the New York advertising agency DeVito/Verdi, which garnered the most nominations by a U.S. firm with eight, and the third highest total in the competition.
The award-winning agency, which doubled its number of nominations from last year's competition (two for Mount Sinai and two for Massachusetts General Hospital), was honored for its work on behalf of Mount Sinai Medical Center and North Shore/LIJ Hospital, both of New York.
For North Shore/LIJ, DeVito/Verdi was named a finalist in the Radio Advertisement, Television Advertisement and Integrated Campaign (two different entries) categories.
For Mount Sinai, two of the agency's ads were nominated in the Print Advertisement category, and two of its ads were nominated in the Medical Service Advertisement category.

All finalists in the 2010 Global Awards go on to the secondary round of judging to determine medalists. The Global Awards will host two award events this year, taking the celebrations globally to the cities of Sydney and New York. This year's winners will be officially announced at both events in December.
The Global Awards GrandJury is comprised of a panel of 64 international industry experts, representing the top creative minds in the field of healthcare advertising from around the globe.
