New Versatile Hammer Drill from Metabo Features Long-lasting Motor

WEST CHESTER, Pa., Dec. 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Metabo Corporation, a leading international manufacturer of professional grade portable electric power tools and abrasives for industrial, construction and welding applications, introduces the SBE751 1/2" hammer drill. This versatile new tool can be used on a number of construction materials such as concrete, metal, wood, brick and tile.

Ideal for use in electrical installations, railing installations, HVAC and concrete construction, the SBE751 weighs 7 lbs and features a 750 watt motor. The 'LongLife' motor design withstands abuse from dust and overload conditions, resulting in the tool's long service life. The hammer drill's ergonomic design, including a rubberized handle, locking side handle and compact construction, creates a perfectly balanced machine for improved safety, comfort and performance.
Metabo's new hammer drill features an optimized impact mechanism and durable aluminum die-cast gear housing that improves the tool's dissipation of heat as well as increases its service life. Metabo's Variospeed electronic speed control allows the user to easily regulate the speed from the lowest to highest value.
The two-speed gear box in the hammer drill offers a no load speed of 0 rpm to 1,000 rpm in first gear and 0 rpm to 3,100 rpm in second gear with a maximum tightening torque of 265 inch-lbs.
The SBE751 has a maximum impact rate of 59,000 bpm, is rated at 5.8 amps and provides a maximum drilling diameter of 3/4" in concrete, 1/2" in steel and 1 9/16" in soft wood. Ample spacing between the drill chuck and gear housing allows for easy drill chuck changes and increased tool flexibility.
Safety features of the tool include a safety locking side handle and the Metabo safety slip clutch. The SBE751 also includes a swivel cord connection for extended cord life, auto-stop carbon brushes and rotatable direction control for full power in each direction.
