On June 16, 2014, Netflix, Inc. (Netflix) announced an all-new animated original series for kids of all ages based on the Mattel franchise, Ever After High, which will premiere in early 2015 across all Netflix territories. A new movie, Ever After High Spring Unsprung, will follow the Netflix original series in early 2015, with 12 episodes of Ever After High series scheduled to follow it. Netflix reported that both the series feature the rebellious and spellbinding stories of the Ever After High students which current and new fans will enjoy. DIRECTV, Inc. Analyst Notes
On June 9, 2014, DIRECTV, Inc. (DIRECTV) announced that it has joined nine other companies and organizations to launch the R2 Leader program, an initiative designed to improve the safe, responsible, and sustainable repair and recycling of used electronics. The R2 Leaders publicly support R2 certified electronics repair and recycling under the auspices of SERI, and consider R2 certification when choosing a recycling partner. As a founding R2 Leader, the Company will expand its e-waste collection events for its employees at its offices, as well as provide consumers with information on where and how to find an R2-certified recycler on its website. DIRECTV and SERI, a non-profit organization that develops policies and programs to advance sustainable electronics recycling including the multi-stakeholder R2 Standard, are exploring other ways to promote responsible recycling of electronics. (United Rentals) announced that it has affiliated with non-profit organization SoldierSocks, with an initial donation of $50,000 that helped fund an EksoTM bionic exoskeleton SoldierSuit for veteran Dan Rose, a retired Army sergeant who was severely paralyzed by a bomb in Afghanistan. This is a part of the Company's expansion of its longstanding support of military veterans, under which it engages in numerous activities to assist veterans in civilian life.
