SHREWSBURY, Mass., Oct. 9, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Healthcare Documentation Professionals Group, Inc., the nation's leader in healthcare documentation services, staffing and training, announces the newest addition to our Scribe Specialty Training Series; Orthopedics for Certified Medical Scribe Professionals (CMSPs) Training Program.
This training program is designed to increase each scribe candidate's knowledge in the specialty of Orthopedics as it pertains to the scribe role. This program is the third installment in our Scribe Specialty Training Series which also includes Cardiology for Certified Medical Scribe Professionals (CMSPs) and Dermatology for Certified Medical Scribe Professionals (CMSPs) online training programs.
"We have trained thousands of medical scribes since launching the industry's first online medical scribe training program in 2011. In doing so, an increasing number of healthcare organizations have sought our assistance to help them develop their own team(s) of certified medical scribes we have been involved with training scribes across all settings of care. Now our Scribe Specialty Training Series is quickly becoming the de facto standard in specialty scribe training" said Peter Reilly, AHDPG's President and CEO. "As a result, we will continue to work in partnership with our healthcare clients to develop additional specialty programs covering family medicine, ophthalmology, and many more to further the skills, knowledge and contribution of today's medical scribe professionals."
The Orthopedics for Certified Medical Scribe Professionals training program, like each of the programs in our Medical Scribe by Specialty Training Series, is currently only available to individuals who have previously completed a general medical scribe training program or individuals who possess a minimum of six (6) months of on-the-job scribe work experience This online course is designed to supplement that foundational medical scribe training with the goal to increase one's knowledge in the respective specialty as it pertains to the scribe role. Each program is designed to be completed in one (1) month.

"All of our career training programs prepare students for careers in in-demand fields, but our employer, academic partners, and healthcare clients are reporting a growing need for certified medical scribe professionals all across the country," said Bob Harvey, Director of Business Development. "What's appears to be driving this shortage is the recognition that experienced allied health professionals (MAs, MTs, LVNs, Techs, etc.) offer greater longevity, documentation expertise and possess the ability to contribute more to improving patient care than previous scribes. This is driving the industry's need for more flexible scribe training. This new program is specifically designed to support these individuals by helping them quickly add the skills and knowledge they need. It also benefits the physicians by having the assistance of a scribe trained in the specialty of Orthopedics will enable the Orthopedist or Orthopedics provider to return to the focus of patient care without having to spend hours on documentation."
